Quail Eggs

Quail Eggs, oil, 23 x 19 cm

I have seen other paintings of quail eggs and fancied a crack at them. They are deceptively hard because all those little distinctive markings on the eggs are what makes a quail egg look like a quail egg. Its time consuming work but the end result is definitely worth it.

I also had to search far and wide to find this bowl that would work seamlessly with the eggs - I think they are so harmonious together. I doubt I will paint these eggs again as I usually move on from a particular subject. Anyway hope you like it!
