Red Carnations

Red Carnations, oil, 34 x 22 cm

This painting is all about the light. I have had a few of these small clear glass vases and wanted to use them in some way. I decided a sparkly style of painting would look good so needed some strong lighting. I just love the way in some places you can see through the vase and in others you just see the the reflections and refractions.
