A L’OLIVIER – acrylic on board – 27cm x 30cm
The olive bottle was one of the most challenging objects that I have painted so far. White objects tend to be harder to paint because of their greater subtlety – add in the curved lettering and it became an even bigger challenge. I painted the bottle and the lettering all at the same time, to ensure that the letters looked like they were part of the bottle, just like the actual object.
Another great still life Brett!
I thought the Port and Stilton was excellent – this one is at least as good; the bottle shade and curvature looks immaculate, and I haven’t a clue how you get the olives to look so succulent.
Looking forward to seeing more 🙂
I think you are the best artist I have ever seen. Real life-like paintings with incredible use of white, quite amazing:)
