Here is my new oil painting of Looe in Cornwall.
I really enjoyed painting this picture although it was challenging due to the very
subtle tonal range and colours. It was one of those hazy early mornings that you
get in late spring before the sun has got to work and burnt off the moisture. The light
was sparkling on the water and small ripples were forming on the water showing the
first movements of the incoming tide. Some of the boats sit in a wooden frame that
helps to take the weight of the boat when there is no water in the river. It is a very
unusual but a dramatic sight, especially in light like this.
